The Build Up Foundation-BUF

The Build Up Foundation (B.U.F.) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting underserved and at-risk youth in the Middle Tennessee region through holistic support programs that focus on mentorship, education, youth sports and youth development. Founded in 2017 on the belief that every child deserves a strong foundation to build their future, our organization serves as a critical support system for students facing academic, social, and environmental challenges. We have provided services to over 3000 students in the Middle Tennessee Area. Together We Are Building Up Our Community.

The Free ACT Prep Program is designed to support Metro Nashville students in boosting their ACT scores and expanding their college opportunities. Through weekly in-person sessions, students receive instruction in all core ACT subject areas, test-taking strategies, and personalized academic support—at no cost to families. We also provide basic tutoring for our elementary students. The Music & Film Academy provides students with hands-on training in music production, filmmaking, podcasting, and digital storytelling. Youth work directly with mentors and industry professionals to learn skills such as audio engineering, video editing, and on-camera performance. This program not only nurtures creativity but also introduces participants to potential careers in the entertainment and media industries. Together, these programs offer a holistic approach to youth development by combining academic readiness with creative expression and consistent mentorship. Our goal is to build confidence, improve academic performance, and provide positive pathways for the future.
